Props/ Costume

To create our music video we had to purchase both animal masks and smoke effects. We chose woodland creatures as they appeared the most fitting with our style and environment being within the woods. We also believed that they are also the most sinister looking which follows with our music being electronic which is an alternative genre. The style of other music videos we have analysed present a darker and more quirky take, for example Chase and Status often create videos in a narrative style following real life issues, e.g. domestic violence. Other artists we have researched is Basement Jaxx who often present completely random and quirky videos which frequently use different animals, for example in their video, 'Wheres your head at'. 

The other props we had to buy to create our chosen scene is smoke bombs/ pellets. We chose these props as we aim to create a certain look and atmosphere. We are hoping to combine both the white and red smoke to create a mystical scene. The use of the white smoke pellets is that we are hoping it will create a misty effect in which our creatures in masks will then walk through to create a sinister and disorientating scene. Both the smoke effects and animal masks will be the main features within our video. We are hoping this will gives us a quirky and edgy effect that will reflect our chosen genre well.
