Using the Camera and Tripod

During filming, I had to use both new cameras and tripods in which I had not previously come across. As a result of this, during the day of filming it turned into a trial and error with many shots. If I were to film again, I would have ensured that I had practise in using the camera and its many features in order to get the best possible result from the equipment.

An issue I came across when filming is the use of the tripod. When setting up in the woods scenes, we were on uneven grounds and as a result was often unable to use the tripod. This resulted in jolty footage, therefore some scenes were not good enough to use within the film. However, a way in which we could've overcome this is by using the tripod legs in such a way that allowed us to have the legs to certain heights in which would've improved the stability on uneven surfaces.

Introduction

For this project, I am creating a music video with my media partner, Nicole. Our idea includes gathering a group our friends to perform as if they are going on a road trip. Starting from the journey in the car and going through into a hike in the forest to then end with a social bonfire and BBQ. The idea was formed from the starting point of 'friends'.

Throughout this project, I am hoping to gain a wider understanding of both filming with certain cameras, as well as editing on the software, Final Cut Express.
